ABOUT US
WE ARE FAMILY
We are located on the campus of Tennessee State University across from the TSU Hale Football Stadium and we are sponsored by the United Methodist Church. At the Wesley Center, we hold weekly worship services, bibles studies, leadership programs, forums, and community service opportunities. The Wesley Center offers a quiet spot to study and a comfortable space to make friends and have fun. (Update: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The TSU Wesley Foundation is now offering virtual weekly worship services and prayer calls.)
WE ARE DEEPLY ROOTED IN OUR COMMUNITY
The Wesley Foundation campus ministry of Tennessee State University had its earliest beginnings with a student fellowship convened by a faculty member, Ms. Ruth McDowell, a devoted United Methodist. She saw the need for such a ministry with students at Tennessee State University and gathered with students providing them with spiritual and moral support during their college/university years. Today we are known as the TSU Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry.

WE ARE LEADERS
Leadership development is both an intentional and essential component to the Wesley Foundation at TSU. Every encounter provides an opportunity to cultivate young adults leadership skills: dependable work ethic, social responsibility, good stewardship, tolerance, respect, inclusivity, and a vision of how the world can become a better place for all people. We use social networking and teamwork to create innovative spaces for worship experiences through music, drama, art, spoken word, and dance.
WE SERVE
On campus, we are considered the “broker “of meaningful community service opportunities for most of the major student organizations. We partner with local churches to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, build playgrounds in poor neighborhoods, mentor young people, lead in freedom schools, and participate in building houses for habitat as ways of learning how to serve.
